Q: When is the festival?

A: The Brushy Mountain Apple Festival is always the first Saturday in October.

Q: What are the hours?

A: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. All vendors must be setup prior to 8:00 am. Streets will be closed at that time.

Q: Where is the festival located?

A: "Downtown North Wilkesboro GPS Coordinates: 36.159486 , 81.146383 Physical Address: 832 Main Street, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659" You will receive instructions on entrances and exits in your welcome packet

Q: Is there Vendor Parking?

A: There is no designated Vendor parking. Parking is available around the edge of the festival. However, this is on a first come first served basis. So, it does fill up fast. There is some free parking located in the lots around the edge of the festival. Other lots are usually managed by local church youth groups and civic organizations and rural fire departments. So even if you cannot find free parking your money is going to a good cause.

Q: Fees went up in 2024, when is the last time it was increased?

A: The last time the fees went up was in 2010. With the increased cost of putting the Festival on, we were forced to increase the prices in order to cover the community needs that we support.

Q: Will there be an ice vendor this year?

A: We regret to say that we have lost our ice vendor so there will not be Ice for sale on the grounds this year. Please plan accordingly. We are attempting to work with local restaurants in the area to see if they will sell ice. More to come on that soon.

Q: How do I request Main St booth?

A: As you can imagine Main Street has a limited number of spaces. Vendors who were on Main St the previous year does get preference as long as they make their payments prior to Aug 1st; if not they are in jeopardy of losing their spot. At that point the vacated spots are assigned based on when your check was received. On your application select Main St = yes and send in your check as soon as possible.

Q: If I don't get Main St. will I be refunded the Main St charge?

A: Yes Absolutely. Most refund checks are written shortly after the Apple Festival. That way if a spot opens up we can make the assignments for those who requested and paid for the spot.

Q: Who puts on the festival?

A: The Brushy Mountain Apple Festival is put on by the Brushy Mountain Ruritan Club.

Q: What do you do with the proceeds?

A: The Brushy Mountain Ruritan club uses the proceeds to better our community. We provide Scholarships, lifelines for the elderly on the Brushy Mountain, benevolent endeavors for the Brushy Mountain community like wheelchair ramps, assistance to burn-out victims or natural and medical emergencies, and many charitable contributions to other non-profit groups in Wilkes County. And that is just to name a few.
